This is a digital painting done in Photoshop and Painter X - most of it was done in photoshop. I used textures, different brushes, to get all the different effects, This will go into the book Fantasy Art NOW! by Ilex Press.

IMO there's something weird about the embers and the wisp of smoke, but I'm not sure what. The robe looks too sharp and "artificially textured" to me. Some softening would probably help with that.

The smoke was meant to be magical, hence its not 'realistic' as such...
